SCL makes its own alloy and has a full fledged metallurgical laboratory that allows SCL to engineer its own alloy composition and maintain strict control of the alloying elements. With its state-of-the-art in house alloying plant, SCL makes a wide variety of alloys; ADC 12, LM25, LM27, SCM14, AlSi9CuMg, LM4,AC4C, AlSi10Mg to name a few.

With its five bulk melters ( reverberatory furnaces - oil fired), two induction furnaces and two tower furnaces it has an installed melting capacity of 25,000 tonnes per annum. The virgin aluminium is sourced competitively from reputed sources world  wide. Online metal control is accomplished using a state-of-the-art optical emission direct measurement spectrometer. Continuous monitoring of alloying constituents and effective process controls ensures that a high quality of metal is delivered to the die-casting machines at all times. Metal is transferred from the melting furnace to over 70 holding furnaces and four dosing furnaces, using tilting type ladles transported on fork lift. Metal temperature control is maintained at these holding and dosing furnaces using contact type parameters.
