At SCL, Quality is a continuously moving target and is approached as a matter of process. This quality is achieved through a meticulous procedure of design and implementation, and is maintained through systems and reviews.

Mistake proofing measures (Poka yoke) are identified and implemented to ensure zero defect quality. The process parameters are optimized through a detailed analytical approach comprising DOE (design Of experiments), Deep Analysis and the like.

The company is certified to QS-9000 and ISO14000.The quality culture itself is a part of a decade long cultural transformation led by SCL's initiatives in adopting world class practices.

A world class quality infrastructure supports the quality improvement activities. The quality infrastructure comprises a full fledged metallurgical laboratory, optical microscope, X-Ray, state-of-the art standards room, scanning type Co-ordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), two shop floor CMMs, Millipore testing equipment, surface and profile measurement equipment. SCL's deployment of infrared thermography for thermal mapping of live diecasting process for process optimization and quality assurance accords it a unique status among Indian diecasters.
